Hollywood, CA (BANG) – Sylvester Stallone will retire from acting after shooting his new ‘Rambo’ movie.
The action hero, who will begin working on ‘Rambo 4: In The Serpent’s Eye’ early next year, has revealed he will continue to work in Hollywood – but only as a director.
Sylvester explained: “After I make this movie, I see my future as a director. I’ve been displeased with my last few films, as well as some in the past.”
‘Rambo 4: In The Serpent’s Eye’ will see Vietnam veteran John Rambo rescuing missing missionaries in Thailand.
The 60-year-old actor enjoyed massive box office success in the 70s and 80s with the Rocky and Rambo movies but has often failed to impress critics.
Sylvester, affectionately known as Sly, penned script for the first ‘Rocky’ movie and wrote and directed ‘Rocky II’, ‘Rocky III’ and ‘Rocky IV’.
However, he has won more Golden Raspberry Awards – given for the worst film performances of the year – than any other actor in history.
‘Rocky Balboa’ – the sixth film in the series – is scheduled to be released in December.

Sylvester Stallone looks ‘In The Serpent’s Eye’ for Rambo IV
October 20, 2006Washington, Oct 9: Hollywood action star Sylvester Stallone is all set to reprise his role of Vietnam veteran John Rambo, in the third sequel of the Rambo franchise.
The Rocky star will also produce and direct the film based on his own script titled, Rambo IV: In The Serpent’s Eye.
According to Production Weekly, the latest movie finds Rambo being recruited by a group of Christian human rights missionaries to protect them against pirates while delivering humanitarian aid to the persecuted Karen people of Burma.
After some of the missionaries are taken prisoner by sadistic Burmese soldiers, Rambo gets a second impossible job: to assemble a team of mercenaries to rescue the surviving relief workers.
Rambo 4 starts shooting in Thailand in January.
Meanwhile, Stallone will also be reprising his role as legendary boxing champion Rocky Balboa in the new film Rocky Balboa. His character in the movie had retired long back, but is drawn back to the boxing ring one last time. (ANI)
